Dischargeable Debts

Chapter 7 bankruptcy can permanently eliminate most debts. A partial list of debts that can be eliminated includes:

● Credit Cards

● Bank loans

● Medical Bills

● Pay-Day Loans

● Old electric or phone bills

● School Tuition (but not most student loans)

Debts that are owed the government are usually not included.* A partial list of these debts include:

● Recent Personal Taxes (but in certain cases old taxes are dischargeable.)

● Child Support

● Parking Tickets

*During the months of the bankruptcy processing, even the government and the IRS has to stop their collection activity.
