Charles W. Juntikka, Esq.
Since 1984, Mr. Juntikka has been limited to New York City personal bankruptcy law and class actions related to consumer credit transactions. For the past twenty years, Mr. Juntikka’s firm has filed the most personal bankruptcies annually in New York City and New Jersey – over 20,000.
As a consequence of Mr. Juntikka’s firm’s experience in personal bankruptcy and consumer credit transactions, Mr. Juntikka has been called upon by the media, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, NBC, CBS, CNN and many other news outlets, to be a source on related issues.
Since 2004, Mr. Juntikka’s firm has been involved in major consumer class actions related to consumer finance. Mr. Juntikka is counsel with David Boies of Boies, Schiller & Flexner, LLP for the White Plaintiffs in the White v. Experian case involving the credit reporting agencies. On September 30, 2008, Mr. Juntikka was quoted in the Wall Street Journal’s feature story on this case in which 15 million class members benefited from injunctive relief that cleared errors from their credit reports.
Mr. Juntikka’s firm is also counsel with the former New York State Attorney General and current New York City Council member Oliver Koppel in four major cases against credit counseling agencies. These cases have recovered eight million dollars in the last year for class members who were defrauded by these agencies. The largest of these cases is scheduled to go to trial in November.
Juntikka’s is a past member of the Committee on Judicial Ethics of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and a current member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
